Cardiff

Having never been to Cardiff city centre what a beautiful city. It’s a mixture of old and new. Cardiff castle in the centre of town is a medieval castle and victorian gothic design built in the late 10th Century. We stayed in Cardiff for a weekend break celebrating our daughters birthday what a fantastic experience. Hilton Cardiff was amazing and the customer touchpoints were on point ; this kind of personalisation will definitely mean that we would recommend them and re-book Hiltons https://www3.hilton.com/en/hotels/united-kingdom/hilton-cardiff. The staff were amazing they added personal touches to the rooms by decorating with birthday banners and calligraphy on mirrors wishing our daughter a happy 21st.

We ventured out in the town to take a look at the castle and for dinner we went to Chapel1877http://chapel1877

This is an old chapel turned into a restaurant and bar. For breakfast we ventured out to Bills https://bills-website.co.uk

The seaside is less than 20minutes drive but as the weather was very random we decided not to venture but the locals definitely recommend it as a place to visit. Just wrap up warm due to the wind chill.

International Women’s day #balancedforbetter

It’s fantastic that women have this day, for centuries the work of women has gone unnoticed. I constantly tell my daughters they are born at a time that they can achieve anything as doors will be open for them to walk through with the knowledge that if they work hard then they will have no blockers in their careers. As a working mum it’s always been difficult to balance time for work, family, husband, parents, siblings and friends. Somehow we do it, but I still don’t know whether everyone in my family and parents see enough of me. My career was definitely impacted when I made the decision to spend more time with my family 21yrs ago as flexible working or working from home was a very unique concept. By the time I had my second child asking for flexible working was easier and thankfully my Director at the time understood the need as both him and his wife had felt the pressures in their home life.

My mother is my inspirational woman not only had she fought in a War, survived an abusive relationship and then re-married the most important man in my life; the man I call dad. When I had my first daughter she did everything in her power to support me in my career. I remember going back to work and my daughter was six month still breastfeeding and being asked to go to Stockholm for a week. Thank God for mum and dad they had a six month baby and somehow managed to bottle feed her for the first time and give her on a routine that worked when I returned.

Women it’s time to spread your wings and fly as nothing can stop you….we should continue to inspire all our daughters as they grow, by encouraging them and letting know they can be whoever they want to be!!

Life never throws you any challenges that you can’t conquer. No matter how many rotten apples you go through there is always a few good apples in the bunch. The word “I can’t” doesn’t exist in my world so creating this site is my next challenge. Hope you like it.

The site will aim to share all my ups and downs, travel destinations, money saving tips on how to get the best deals, my love of fashion and new season trends, theatre shows to see as well as the fun things to do on your own or with others
